Fundamentals of Cyber-trauma Counselling
Programme Description
This CPD programme will equip counsellors and mental health professionals with the foundational knowledge and skills to identify, assess, and treat individuals experiencing trauma caused or exacerbated by online interactions, including cyberbullying, online abuse, digital addiction, and the exposure to harmful content. Participants will develop an understanding of the psychological impact of these experiences and acquire the tools necessary to offer effective, ethical, and empathetic counselling for clients suffering from cyber-related trauma.
Programme Outcome
By the end of this CPD programme, participant shall be able to:
•Explain clearly the concept, principles and modalities of cyber counselling
•Demonstrate an understanding of the causes, types, and impacts of cyber-trauma on individuals.
•Assess and diagnose cyber-trauma accurately, including identifying risk factors and co-occurring mental health issues.
•Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to meet the needs of clients impacted by cyber-trauma..
•Apply ethical considerations and trauma-informed care (TIC) practices when counselling clients affected by cyber-related trauma.
